Misunderstanding of points question
 

The DW, our 22 year old daughter and I were driving around town earlier today. The daughter told us a story of her getting a speeding ticket and later driving 3 hours away to appear in court in the hopes of getting the charges reduced. I'll pick up the dialogue there:

Daughter: "Yeah, so I drove down the night before so I could be there for my hearing at 0900. Spent the night in a Holiday Inn Express."

Me: "Did you get any points?"

Daughter: "I don't know yet, I guess the DMV will send me a letter and let me know."

Me: "I mean points for the hotel stay."

DW: mumbles something under her breath

Daughter: "Oh man, I forgot!!"
