Keeping boarding passes
Anyone out there like to keep your boarding pass for souvenirs like me? If so, for those airlines which keep the big half what do you do? Do you ask for a second one in the lounge or at checkin?
It seems some non-US carriers prefer to tear the BP. Just curious. |
Keeping boarding passes
All electronic

Keeping boarding passes
I used to keep them but it just gets out of hand and I never did anything with them. I've since recycled all of them and only use electronic ones when available.
|
Keeping boarding passes
For the first couple years of my flying life I kept all my boarding passes. Actually put them on my wall, until I moved then I realized I had too many so I only kept the sentimental ones
|
For Keeping boarding passes I kept my self while I traveled to Thailand by Thai Airways. Because there is too many issues about immigration according to customs rules.
|
Years ago I kept them but only the stub. Those took up too much space at home as it was. Now I just keep them long enough to know I won't need them for after the fact evidence, for example to claim missing mileage.
|
Keeping boarding passes
I keep the electronic ones archived in my email, but other than that, I'll only keep interesting itineraries or strange airlines. And it's always just the stub that I keep as it has all the necessary information.
|
I only keep the ones from memorable flights, e.g. when I'm flying Business or First.
|
I only keep them until I have verified that my FF miles have been posted to my account, then they go in the rubbish bin.
|
Keeping boarding passes
I leave them in seat pocket so that my legacy continues on the aircraft's next leg

I keep all my BP stubs, kind of as a memento of all the miles and cities I've visited. |
Sentimental ones, mostly. Or new and different airlines.
For the rest, I keep them readily available until the miles have posted and I know I won't need them for anything. Then they go into a accordion file and thus sorted by year. In January, I purge the oldest year to free up a space for the new year. |
I used to keep them, but then I had way too many and now they're all on my iPhone.
|
I shred 'em.
Why? Because if someone finds it (via dumpster diving) they know 3 things about me: 1) I am an elite flyer (and probably doing OK $$) 2) My name 3) My FF# That is 1 step away from full identity theft. I don't have any trips worth keeping BP -- I don't really have any memorable trips so if I ever get that trip to Bora Bora I might keep that one. |

I like to keep them. When it gets out of hand, I let the boring ones go. Although I always take a photo before passing them through a shredder. ;)

Apparently none of commented need to submit 'original' BPs for the expense reports. For my travel policy this is a requirement, however I do check in electronically and keep PDF versions. 'Original' paper versions are printed at the airport.
|
I've kept all of mine. Pretty much just for grins and giggles. Use ticket jackets to hold them. Also save electronic copies on my computer.

I keep printed boarding passes and ticket jackets for the carriers that still have them from memorable flights or as part of an expense report.

Ticket jackets... now that's going back a while. Can't remember when I last got one of them.

i take a snapshot with phone when the bp is received. and a higher def scan when i return from the trip. |
I keep all sorts of crap - including boarding passes - from my travels as souvenirs but.....ummmmm...what kind of fancy boarding passes are you all talking about?
A heck of alot of the boarding passes that I do/did not print at home fade very badly over the years. |

I keep all of mine, I have several binders and I staple them to pages, whole punch them, then put them in. When I get worried they'll tear the BP, I'll go to a gate agent and say something like "I think I left my BP at the security checkpoint, could you reprint it for me?". They always do.

I use the stubs as bookmarks.
