Being out of the airport before the scheduled arrival time

Hi FT!

Yesterday my mum arrived from GRU to BCN with SQ with a scheduled time of 9.05 AM. The plane arrived 8.30-ish and she passed through passport control and collected her checked bags and was out of the airport before 9.00.

Luckily I arrived there just in time to welcome her

I'm glad your mum arrived safely and (a few minutes) early.
But, what is the point you are trying to make?

I found it odd, because always I have found that checked bags arrive late, like an hour waiting at GRU I had, or if the bags are early is the passport control that takes an hour or more (in DXB, LAX).

So having a passport control fast and also the delivery of the bags, was great.

Only wanted to share

Yes, on SQ metal. And now that my sister lives in Sao Paulo, is a pleasure to fly direct and with SQ.

I've been out of the airport before the ETA. That's when the flight is cancelled...

Well, whenever the flight I'm on has good tailwinds, even if we land early, we still wait. I might have been in this situation once though, at HND.

I know of a few people whose nonstops from LAX/EWR landed over an hour early. In SIN, you can be landside in less than 20 minutes after touchdown - with checked bags

I've been out of the destination airport before the ETD before! That's the joy of AMS-NWI with a tailwind...
