What is the DXB Air show like?
 

Has anyone ever been? What's it like for general visitors? What level of access can you get to the planes etc? Anyone here that will be there this year or know anyone that can arrange a higher-level pass or something??

I unfortunately have never been (its always on a week day:().

I think you can get pretty close to the planes on the ground (e.g. 10-20 meters for the military ones before hitting the ropes).

Technically the general public are not allowed entry, but I think as long as you give any kind of business card you can visit.

In terms of plane aerobatics though, the Al Ain show down the road is better:

Apparently this year they're having it at the new airport (DWC in Jebel Ali) instead of DXB.

They seem to have public access to the airshows now too: www.skyview.aero
