Travel Gift Voucher/Gift Card for Friend

Hi
I'm trying to buy my friend a gift card/gift voucher/gift certificate for a friend of mine. My question is which airline should I get a gift certificate from?
Here's details:
*He lives in Sydney, Australia
*Travels to Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, or whenever the next Swimming Australia National Championships will take place.
*Not sure about his travel movements for leisure
*Wish for him to use for international travel
*Birthday gift
*$50-$75 USD equiv. (His gift card will be in AUD)
OP is NOT going to finance a full trip to San Francisco (I wish)

I suggest a prepaid Visa/MasterCard/Amex card that he can use with his airline of choice. With last minute tickets, you often have to shop around different airlines.

Otherwise, you could just chat with him and say,"Wow, with all that traveling you do, what airline do you use?"

Cheers,

Doc

I second the recommendation for a prepaid MasterCard. This way they can use it on any airline at any time, or even to pay for other travel related expenses like a meal out

If you are only giving a $50-$75 USD gift, seems wrong to be wanting it to be used for an international gift.

I am not fond of getting gifts with "strings"; ie. requiring it to be used for something the gifter might want... vs what I might want.

For $50 or $75 just send him a generic gift card.
