US-NRT which side of plane?
 

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice as to whether the side of the plane matters for US-NRT flights. From flightaware it looks like the flights frequently fly fairly close to or over land for much of the trip.

I'm someone who like to gaze out the window and so am curious as to whether or not views will normally be any more interesting from one side vs. the other. I know the flight ex-NRT will be largely in darkness, but the ex-US leg should be mostly daylight.

Starboard side gets you Denali (depending on departure city; I've seen it on ORD-NRT and SFO-NRT) and Fuji

Really? I've never seen much but clouds and sometimes ocean on SFO-NRT. As to Fuji, it depends on which direction they land, which you don't know in advance.

I've seen Fuji several times. Start looking right before crossing above Japanese land. Always from starboard for me.

As for Denali, it is well-known for being in the clouds some 70% of the time, but when you get to fly over Alaska on a clear day... wow.
