Astonishing the FAs let him get away with that (unless it was an FA!).

What they could do? Land plane on North Pole and remove him from flight?

Don't hate just because he thought of it and pulled it off.

Many years ago I flew from Cairo to LHR in BA C (pre flatbed era). It seemed that everyone that morning had a bad stomach, or worse. There was no aisle space left for all the passengers stretched out in any place they could find. Hands down the worst flight I ever took.

Wow, seems like a common thing for that route. Saw similar attempts by a woman on SQ1 sitting in emergency exit row. Poor FA had to repeatedly remind her not to do it.

Apparently they are still handing out free liquor in coach.

Saw it more than once over one year period and exactly on that route. BTW, it was last flight on 747 I took. I've learned to avoid 747 in Y at all costs and on my SIN-US flights I always go thru NRT.

Nope, they don't. Unless you count Bud Light as a 'liquor'.

Which row is that near?

It is all the way at the end of the Y cabin.

Looks like the aft side of the G7 galley and in front of the aft lavs. Behind the last row of coach.

Thai Airways used to always have on-board announcements telling passengers NOT to sleep on the floor.

Lol, there are a number of reasons never to fly Y on a UA 747 (no AVOD) but that's certainly a new one I will add to my list :)

How did he get a blanket from C? Hope no one in the upper management seeing this or we are going to sell this space soon. :D

Crew bunks
 

My old boss on a TG or CX (one of the Asian carriers) about 10 years ago, was ill and decided that he needed to lie down flat. He got up from his UD J seat and snuck into the crew bunks above the galley in the tail of the 744. He slept there for about 4 hours before the crew found him and politely told him he had to go back to his seat. What's shocking about the story is they were very apologetic for making him move. But he came back refreshed and feeling much better.

Had he done that on NW or UA, I'm sure he would be met with some very strong language and reprimand.

I downgraded to Y on NRT-SFO so I could fly home with a new puppy. Some of the Y pax behavior was astonishing, for want of a better term (and yes, I fly Y a lot--just not internationally :p).

I witnessed a lady sleeping in the floor (albeit in a regular row and not back in the galley). Another lady's kid also slept on the floor, and did such stunts as roll down the aisle during takeoff (his mom played dumb when the FAs insisted he be belted in) and spend half the flight flipping on and off the overhead lights for half the seats in his row (and the other half raising then slamming down the tray tables in the same row). Come approach and landing, the kid again escaped from his seatbelt--and his mom didn't get up to grab him--and started running up and down the aisle, then fell and rolled around when a FA tried to get him up.

If I'd been a FA on that flight, I think the kid would have ended up in plastic handcuffs, and probably the mom after him.

Not to mention handcuffs and a police escort off the plane for... erm, um... I dunno, but everything besides sitting in your chair with your mouth shut is a security threat these days, especially on US-based airlines.

I'd have taken a napkin and made a "HOMELESS - PLEASE HELP" sign to put on him...then taken the picture.

That's Y++ without paying extra on a first come, first serve basis, LOL

Missed flying those *A Queens - he looks to be sound asleep - hopefully didn't snore loudly (which-sometimes-can be a problem up in J) - and rather comfortable, a travel pillow (or improvised one) would've been perfect :D

FA, purser and others just walked around him, after he occupied this prized spot sometime after takeoff and all the way across the Pacific until landing ... also, didn't eat, drink or pee, etc. at all?

How interesting - time for *A to reclaim that premium space and install 2 or 3 pull-down bunks w. seat belts ! :rolleyes:

^ I don't worry about this sort of stuff - if they're not making anyones life difficult, then I don't really mind.

I just would caution people to make sure their head is not poking into the aisle AT ALL if they sleep on the floor - years ago a teammate didn't follow this rule, and took a trolley to the head (fortunately they were moving slowly down the aisle serving, not on the fast paced rush down)
