3 month wait for interview at GOES LAX???

Just signed up my wife and daughter for global entry, and the earliest appointment I could get them for their interview is mid July! Have others had this problem? Does anyone have any experience picking up a cancelled appointment? Are we about to see long lines at the Kiosks???

I had to wait about that long for my interview at BOS.

See this thread

Global entry program-processing time?

The key is to schedule the appointment at the earliest date available, but keep checking back for cancellations. I was able to get a May 24th appt moved up to March 29th by just checking every few days.

Try other airports

Have any trips planned? I was looking at a 3 month wait at ORD. However, several airports I was passing through had availability before then. Ended up interviewing at SJU a month and a half sooner. Just a thought.

Yes, very common. But, as others note, slots open all the time. You can also walk in space available. So, anytime you are flying to/from/through a GOES station, stop by and see if they'll take you.

I did a walk-in at T4 at JFK and they seemed so happy to see a customer that they bent over backwards. Granted my appointment date wasn't 3 months out but rather 3 weeks but still...

See if there is an opening at their Seattle office and fly up there for it. That is what I did.

I think my wait for my LAX appt was about 3 months. But as many said, you can probably walk on. They did not seem busy at all when I did my appointment last month.

Someone in my family just went through LAX. Conditional approved April 3, earliest July 4, a few minutes later April 8 popped up, snapped it, and got it done and approved. Report from April 8 LAX was that five stations were all in use (does that sound like 15 appointments an hour if full speed?) so I'm not sure about walk in.
