USA (somewhere) to Mumbai

I'm trying to find out which airports in the USA offer nonstop flights to mumbai -- I found Newark.

Is there any website that offers information as to what airlines or airports fly nonstop to different destinations?

I usually look at the destination airport's Wikipedia page, where carriers and the cities they fly to/from are listed.

Here's the one for BOM.

Just jump to "Airlines and Destinations" and scroll to "Passenger Airlines".

USA (somewhere) to Mumbai

I think UA is the only one doing nonstop to BOM. DL and AI go to Delhi.

Though that requires that someone update the information. In this case, the wikipedia page says that Jet flies EWR-BOM and Air India flies JFK-BOM and I can find no proof that either airline flies those routes, or at least flies them any longer. Fairly certain that Air India did at one point fly JFK-BOM but I can't book it on their website without a connection in Delhi.

I'm pretty sure none of them will be USAirways (i.e. this forum)

UA: EWR - BOM; EWR - DEL
AI: EWR - BOM; JFK - DEL

Not sure if there is a ORD-DEL by AI

(This thread belongs in the India or Airlines of India forum)

Ha! Very true, as the furthest US flight is PHL-TLV. :p

Sending this thread off to TravelBuzz, where the whole FT community can assist the OP.

I believe Jet markets it as a direct flight, but it actually has a stopover in Europe somewhere.

I am not sure why OP is insistent on a nonstop flight to BOM, but I think the only options are AI and UA out of NYC area. Taking a connection in Europe is not that big of a deal as you can usually transit without a visa and the European airports are generally nice.

"I believe Jet markets it as a direct flight, but it actually has a stopover in Europe somewhere."

There's no inconsistency there. "Direct" flights can be either nonstops, or through-flights that make one (or more) en-route stops, but operate with a single flight number.

And in this case the stop is in Brussels IIRC.

AI does nonstop EWR- BOM and direct JFK-BOM and nonstop JFK-DEL.

UA does nonstop EWR-BOM and EWR-DEL.

Others have already covered 9W.

UA isn't any airline of India. And if I am not mistaken, our destination fora are not for airlines/routes discussion either. So neither India nor Airlines of India Forum would work.

Some tips in the following thread might help narrow down your search:

There's also an old thread but not too many replies back in 2010:

Okay, yes, you are correct. It just peeves me because when booking it appears to be a nonstop, but it has "one stop on the ground", which often is not a "stop", but a "get off the plane, clear security, go around in circles and get on the same plane/a different one." To me it is very easy for a novice traveler to book this thinking it's a nonstop and be in for a rude awakening.
