FlyerTalk Forums - Cancellation question

My husband and I will be heading to Oahu in 2 weeks! I was hoping one of you travel experts might be able to help us with something.

We were planning on staying 2 nights at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and then spending 3 nights at Disney’s Aulani.

We found out that Aulani was offering a promotion of stay 5 nights for the price of 3 during their renovations. My husband called and was able to change all 5 nights to Aulani.

However, we booked the Aulani part ourselves (to use reward points) and everything else through our travel agent. When we called our travel agent to ask if we could cancel the 2 nights at the HHV to maybe get some money back, he informed us that the flight/rental car/HHV had all been booked together as a package and the cheaper prices were because they were a package and that he did not think there was a way to get even part of the HHV costs refunded to us.

It doesn’t really matter because our total cost for the trip hasn’t changed, but it would be nice to get some of the cost of the HHV back. Any ideas?
