What's your Personal Best in the suitcase throw event?

Do you get more points if it has a "fragile" sticker?

If I left the tag on my bag from the last flight (on another airline) would it really mess up where it got routed to? i.e. are the barcodes even compatible?

Both, but the bags with the most damage usually fall half way off the cart and are dragged.

Absolutely, if you have a fragile sticker I guarantee it will be thrown harder!

Believe it or not, TSA (security) are most likely taking things out of your bags. We recently had a big problem with them in Boston stealing ipads and laptops, but it happens everywhere all the time . Ground crews also take items, but it's more difficult for them to steal.
If you have something of value, keep it with you.

I know delta tried using them few years ago and had problems with the aircraft materials blocking the signals or something. I'd say they are just for show.

I believe it. And they are responsible for creating the opportunity for themselves with their unlock-it-or-it-will-be-broken-into policy.

Yes, it will be sorted incorrectly. Airport baggage systems are pretty primitive.

That could be a good strategy, but remember tsa still xrays your luggage and will steal if they see something they like.

Do you ask for a fragile sticker on the suitcase that has the wine and hope there isn't a throwing contest going on?

Thanks for posting here, Sandpit!

You don't speak very highly of the TSA... is there some sort of mutual "rapport" that luggage personnel has developed with the TSA? Do you guys walk by each other and think "pff... TSA folk" and the other way around?

During a DL DO a few years ago do I've met a guy who had worked in luggage at CVG for many, many years. He really liked his job. Most pilots say that they love their job, as do most FAs. Do you find that most people working in luggage appreciate their job?

How much do you know or learn about the airline industry in general? For instance FAs know a lot about the flight itself but are completely clueless when it comes to reservations, frequent flyer programs and other aspects of the business. Is your job a situation where you know a lot about what's going on in general or does is your general knowledge about airlines limited to your area of expertise?
