I was on the inaugural commercial service of the 747-8i. It was a lot of fun. That said, the vast majority of the passengers were just folks who needed to get from FRA-IAD that day; most of them had no idea they were on a special flight. The inaugural party/press conference wasn't even held at the gate; it was in the lounge upstairs prior to departure.
