Interlining Question
Greetings,
I have two separate tickets and I was wondering if interlining my bags would work in this situation. Ticket 1: AA - MFE/DFW Ticket 2: US - DFW/CLT/FRA --------- LH - FRA/VCE (US Code Share Flight w/LH) My point of origin is MFE and final destination is VCE. The issues here are that in CLT there is a change of aircraft, but they use the same flight number for both aircraft. I am not sure if the change of aircraft is tagged on the checked bags or not since it is the same flight number. If it is, then how would AA know to tag it as such? There is, of course, the LH Code Share on the final leg as well which might or might not be a problem. Would it be better to reclaim my bags at DFW and recheck them with US (we have a 4 hour layover at DFW)? Thanks! |
unless things have changed, if you check your bags to dfw, if you do not claim your bags in dallas, they stay there. you should do your whole checkin in mfe. check bags all the way through. i presume you are on a small plane, and mfe looks pretty small, but i have always done the full checkin at originating airport in usa. if they gate check your carryons at mfe, find out how you get them back before you get on the next leg.

show the 2 tickets at mfe & ask to check thru to vce..... shouldn't be a problem...
the plane change isn't unusual....i wouldn't sweat it.... |
There should be no issues checking them all the way through.
