Was it really gate lice?

This was a first for me after decades of heavy travel. I was at gate 137 yesterday waiting for flight 1279 from EWR to IAH. It was about 15 minutes before boarding and I was standing well back from the actual gate leaning against a post just people watching when I noticed it. A couple were "grooming" their daughter's hair by meticulously going through the hair and scalp and picking things out, looking closely at what they picked out, and then flicking them on the floor. The daughter was say 15-16 years old and this went on for like 10 minutes. Could it have been anything other than a delousing scene?

scratching my head about this post...

I'm itching to hear what the answer to that question is.

OP, were you ticked off by this incident, or are you just pondering over all things that mite happen?

Think that's bad?

Compare that to this list:

De-lousing your kid in the airport is bad. Putting used toilet tissue back in the box? That is worse.

People do some really gross things on airplanes. Predictably, it is most frequent during kettle season (i.e., the summer travel season.)

It has already started. It is amazing what the kettles tries to get away with. Yesterday, I saw some 80-year-old woman try to bring about 4 carry-ons onto my flight.

Get ready for the insanity, folks.

[pun about itching]

seriously though, that's gross. ugh and if memory serves me right, C137 is just like C126 where it's right in that stupid corner where three gates are smashed together which means that there's extra people to inadvertently pick up whatever it is they threw out...

...as a new yorker, naturally i'm going to go ahead and blame jersey. :D

Delousing by chemicals is already available, and ready to be blasted on passengers, @ the TSA full body scanners and these x-ray machines can detect ANYTHING, even something as small as a pair of mating lice!

PITA however has held up implementation of the release of these noxious gasses as apparently even a louse has rights!!!
