MEL To SIN
Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me with a quick trip I am needing to make around the 5/6th of June. I am needing to fly to Singapore on the 5th of June from Melbourne then leave no earlier than 10 hours after I arrive. I have found a way to get there for $420 return but am not sure if it's a safe option because it would be three separate bookings, please give me your opinion or any other options you can think of. The itinerary would be: 5/6/2012 MEL-SYD on Tiger airways DEP 6:40am ARR 8:15am 5/6/2012 SYD-SIN on Scoot DEP 12:50pm ARR 7:00pm Then return 6/6/2012 SIN-KUL on AirAsia DEP 7:45am ARR 8:45am 6/6/2012 KUL-MEL on AirAsia X DEP 1:40pm ARR 11:30pm If you can think of another itinerary I would prefer it to be less than $700 Thanks for any help offered. Why don't you book a roundtrip on either AirAsia or Tiger/Scoot since it's usually cheaper that way?
Have you tried Jetstar? I've found it to be the best budget airline out of SG. |
if the outbound fare is good the day before, & is cheap enough that you save after hotel & food costs,i tmay make sense...

Thanks for the replies, we are now thinking about driving to Sydney then get a return flight with scoot, this mean we would be there for about 30 hours, could anyone suggest a place to stay for the night and also some ideas for sight seeing?
Thanks |
If you don't want to venture out of the airport, there's always the Crowne Hotel.
Otherwise, there's Marina Bay Sands, the latest SIN icon with the SkyPark and the amenities of the Orchard Road shopping belt nearby. There's of course Raffles Hotel, the grand old dame where you can will time away with a Singapore Sling. For a more "relaxed" feel away from the city buzz, try Capella Hotel. It's on Sentosa island (about 20-30 mins away from the airport) and there are plenty of sightseeing opportunities on the island itself. If you prefer city sights, MBS is the way to go; if you're a beach person/ prefer more historical sights / prefer things to do (like simulated skydiving), then Capella is it. |

Note that the CP at SIN in land side, and usually expensive for what it is. There are airside transit hotels in each of the three terminals, but not in the budget terminal. |

Do you require checked luggage on your booking? You may want to investigate Air-Asia's fly-thru service which allows checked through luggage and some flexibility to move flights if connections are missed.
