Lots of Empty Counter Spacer
 

With all the airline consolidation and those going out of business the past 30 years at many airports there is lot so empty counters where in the past space was tight. At some airports they are using thjis space for displays. I do not like the trend of airlines continuing to consolidate.

I think it has to do more with the arrival of electronic kiosks for checking in. Many have been moved away from the counter area, and the ones there take up much less space than a computer, person, printer, etc.

There is also the use of on line check in.

Using OLCI one bypasses the counter and kiosk(except to get luggage tagged) altogether.
