I just want to say thank you to all who have provided such great information here. I have a few dept store cards but only had one actual credit card. Thanks to what I've learned here, I now have an AmEx PRG (for the rewards) and Chase Freedom (for cash back and where AmEx isn't taken) on their way to me - instant approval on both. I didn't realize having cards that I keep a 0 balance on would improve my credit score until reading the information here!

I'm now signed up for every reward program I can find for my new job that requires travel. I'm really looking forward to maximizing benefits and getting the most out of the inconvenience of being a road warrior!

Can't thank you guys enough, I'm a happy camper right now :)
