It's $27 even if it is your spouse.
Already tested that one!

It's better than no lounge and sometimes they surprise you with how nice they actually are. The one in LHR is beautiful, for example.

Agreed- the ones in Europe are definitely better, but even in the US most lounges are better than being outside with plastic chairs, beeping carts and overcrowded gate areas. Just make sure they're in the airports you're likely to travel; the list has dwindled a lot over the years and those of us who have "Select" memberships tied to credit cards have an even smaller selection.

I have the iPhone app on my iPod and it's worked fine.

Depends on the airline. I know that Alaska Airlines lounge policy is that you must have a same day BP.

I'm fine with showing a boarding pass. Just may not be theirs. That was the main concern. I've heard in general you can just call up in advance if you have a meeting, etc there.

Anyone have any idea how long this promotion runs? I want to hop on it but I don't have a flight for another month. Rather start the clock later. How long does it take for them to send out the card once I sign up?

And can you sign up for something like this next year rather then paying full price? Just cancel before membership is due and sign up again?

If you're flying domestic US it opens United Clubs, US Airways Clubs, and Alaska Board Rooms only. Nothing in DTW, for example.
