Nice blog... So how many of the 1,000 places have you been to? I met Patricia Schultz at a travel show a few years ago. She is very friendly and full of great strories...

Check out my blog if you get a chance and tell me what you think! The link is in my signature.

I really don't know. I've been working on putting all the locations in a list so I can organize, focus, and add diversity to my travel plans. I have a very long way to go. It gets tricky because some of the things in the book I've done, but not with the same panache that Patricia recommends. I may have to redo some of them.

I believe it! That sounds very cool. I know her book gets a lot of criticism, but I'm sure she has a great enthusiasm for travel.

I dig your blog. It looks like you've done a lot of fun stuff!

I find the book fun to skim through to see what she recommends. The crazy, expensive hotels I don't even consider. That's definitely not my thing. I have no clue how many things I have done from her list, but if I do something very similar, I'd consider it done and not worry about revisiting unless it is something that is of great interest.

Thanks for the kind words about my blog! It's amazing how much time it takes to work on it. I just hope that I am getting people to come back and take a look!
I have been to a lot of great places and have had amazing experiences all over the world! I am on a little trip hiatus for now but have had fun going through my pics & posting some to the blog!

Have you done a lot of travel so far?

Since this really isn't a discussion of and link to a "travel-related news story," I'll move to Travel Buzz.

The recent change in tone on many of the blogs to be shills for CCs rather than providing useful travel advice has changed my reading patterns lately.

sbm12 has a very neat one at http://boardingarea.com/blogs/thewanderingaramean/

others I read are flightblogger and http://hpoole.wordpress.com/

but I admit that I just follow aviation/travel writers on Twitter and they post the links which I go to much more than actually going to the blogs.

Twitter is a great tool for travel info, reports and deals!

I have to agree. I hope I'm not guilty of shilling. I try to only write about CC's if there is a great promotion. Otherwise, I think the topic of credit card features/benefits is horribly dull.

What blogs do you like reading these days?

PVDtoDEL Dec 21, 2011 11:14 pm

Personally, I regularly read:
1)crankyflier.com
2)bangaloreaviation.com
3)airlinerreporter.com
4)http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/flightblogger/
5)http://boardingarea.com/blogs/thingsinthesky/
6)http://www.salon.com/technology/ask_the_pilot/

and my own of course ;)
