Well, then....I am reminded of the Avro RJ85 operated as Northwest Jetlink (NW*) by Mesaba. And with 16 first class seats and just 53 coach seats, I think this little British jet would qualify as being the most comfortable.

BTW, I believe that with a total of 69 seats on the RJ85, Mesaba was just under the scope clause NW had in effect with its mainline pilots at the time prohibiting code sharing partners from operating aircraft configured with over 70 seats.

I was living in Troy, Michigan, and on a whim, I drove down to DET the day they began service (their first revenue flight was DET-BWI-DET), and one of their managers invited me to ride their inaugural flight, as a guest of the airline. All of their employees were very dedicated and kind, but I felt the neighborhood around DET, which has been declining for 60+ years, would probably deter passengers from flying them - unfortunately I was right.

Trans World Airlines is correct! Here's the round trip TWA sched.....

BTW, my very first visit to the Caribbean commenced on board an AA DC-10 in first class. Routing of AA 606 was LAX-DFW-SJU and the front cabin service on the "LuxuryLiner" was excellent.

Also, a Tropical WX Update: just five days into the 2016 hurricane season, we now have our first tropical storm in the GOM. It's in the southern Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Yucatan, Mexico. Tropical Storm Colin is expected to make landfall on the west coast of Florida, perhaps somewhere between Tampa/St. Pete and Panama City, FL. USAF Reserve WC-130J "Hurricane Hunter" aircraft from Keesler AFB are continuing to investigate this tropical weather system.

And, folks, I have the funny feeling we may see an interesting tropical weather season here in the Gulf this summer as it has been very quiet in the GOM the past several years......we've dodged that particular bullet for awhile now.

I am going to guess Mexicana, but I believe they flew this route with a B727-200, not a -100
