Connection time in Dublin and when to buy tickets
 

I'm going to Paris and Amsterdam in June 2012 with my sisters and niece (for her high school graduation gift). I know this is high season for transAtlantic airfares, so I'm hoping that booking now will get me the best price.

The best price I can find (coach - I don't have status with any carrier) is on Aer Lingus from JFK via Dublin for $956. These are one-way tickets JFK-CDG and AMS-JFK) and all flights are on Aer Lingus. Departure is 6/18/12 and return is 6/25/12. We're taking the train from Paris to Amsterdam, so that's not an issue.

I have 2 questions: 1. should I book now at this price or is it better to wait? 2. If the flight arrives on time, I have 1.25 hours in Dublin to connect to the Paris flight. Is this enough time? :confused:

this year, people were complaining about $1200-1500 europe fares....is the 1k fare from/to phl?

the connect time should be fine....

you could look at fares mid jan to mid march [usually good for low fares] as a basis for comparison.....

thanks, clacko. The $956 fare is to/from JFK. I can't find anything cheaper from PHL. BWI or EWR would also work, but after hours of searching, JFK is still the cheapest. We had originally planned to go in April during her spring break when fares would have been more reasonable, but she doesn't want to miss her last high school track and Junior Olympics volleyball seasons.

I'll check to see what the January and March fares would be for comparison.
