*A Award Availability Tool in Public Beta

I wrote a tool to help myself search for award availability more efficiently. It allows you to use the ANA tool more effectively by searching a span of dates rather than a single date at a time. It's in its very early stages so it's quite rough at the moment.

milefinder.webfactional.com/star

Like the ANA tool this requires an ANA account with at least 1000 miles to work. At some point I may find a way to gather the data somewhere else if there is a lot of interest. For now, enjoy!

If you don't have an ANA account with 1k miles, use the following credentials instead.

account #: pass
pin: go

Thanks for the programming.. Hopefully, your program will be able to gauge actual *A availability through AE..

Very useful tool. Obviously it could use some GUI improvements, but that's easy and you've gotten down the link to the ANA tool (which is probably the harder part). There's lots of potential with this site, but some notes/things I'd like to see are:

- For options that the ANA tool shows a connection, your tool only shows the first flight.
- Ability to search for more than one seat would probably be most useful for me.
- Multi-leg trips would be nice, but might be difficult to implement

Great job!

I also get errors... what goes in the Range field?

I got it to work fine. I'm assuming that in the range field, you put in a whole number indicating how many days after the specified search date you would like it to return results for as well.

I haven't really added much form correction to it so there are a lot of ways to trip up the software right now. One way is to leave any field blank. I should have explained the range field - as zoobtoob said it's the number of days after your date that you want to search. To search for October 10th-15th you'd type this:
OCT 10 5

You can enter 0 to search for only the date you entered but you do need to put a number in, it can not be blank.

I'll be fixing the bugs and adding things like ability to search for multiple passengers, reading out connecting flights properly and displaying everything a little neater. Thanks for the observations and suggestions keep them coming!

I'm an airline employee with access to all the bells and whistles but can see how useful this software could be on the road.
