It's not all our imagination (but at least the French are considered worse than us).

In reality here and here is how Americans are perceived.

"Germans were the most popular holiday makers, followed by Americans - who also give the biggest tips. "

But keep this on the down low. Wouldn't want to confuse anyone with the facts.
Do you realize the two links you sent contradict each other? One says British tourists are the worst while the other says they are the second best. Secondly, I bet Americans willingness to (over)tip generally smooths over boorish behavior.

If you think that drunkness can't be observed, your eyes aren't open. He was staggering as he walked, slurring his words, pounded a big drink right before leaving the counter, and smelled like alcohol. If you need me to present evidence for every claim, I can. Do you want to know how I know he was going to IAH?

american policies typically are the thing that europeans dislike but they don't hold it against us when we are visiting. but if you get into political conversations with them you'll hear their frustration.

people are people. most of us get along with each other. most of us try. Those who don't are like the texan and bathroom guy. they are outliers, but they suck so badly it leaves a scar. Those of us in the normal majority take too much of this on a regular basis. i wish we stood up for each other some more because it'd shame the loud ones to shut up and get in line.

as for unruly kids vs drunks...kids consume resources at no cost. Drunks at least are buying the drinks. so airports and airlines try to be as accomodating for the drunks as possible. the kids are a loss leader from flying free on laps to using the vomit bags to annoying everyone in the cabin. once the drunks fall asleep it's over until landing.

Yep. Those policies of saving their a$$ from fascism and spending trillions to rebuild their economies after wars. Americans are indeed evil.

I'm sure their present day frustration is nothing compared to their frustration prior to being liberated from German occupation by American forces.

Hopefully they are not frustrated by the fact that American Military Cemetaries are taking up some of their real estate.

Carefull...someone (me) might bring up the fact that America refused to get into the war earlier and save lives when they could have been saved. The isolationist attitude of the American population might not be the best thing to be proud of. This is said as a born and bred American raised in Texas who has lived in three different countries and traveled the world.

People are people. There are good and bad in every culture and country.

How wonderful that the Americans did that all by themselves. And how fortunate that it's only American military cemeteries taking up their valuable real estate, none from any other nation.

Where would we all be if it wasn't for Hollywood's version of the history of the 20th century?

And confuse the issue by including a few facts? Nah, who would do that?
