Sleeper seat NY to CA

Hi All,

I'm looking to fly from Newark NJ to the San Francisco area next month. I have a physical restriction and need to lay on a 100% flat bed (sleeper seat) most of the way. A reclining seat will not work.

The sleeper seat seems very common internationally. However, I have not been able to find this on any flights domestically.

I'm very willing to pay business are first class.

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

I think thats the only commercial option for lie-flat seats between NY and SFO.

If you can get a flight operated by Continental with their 752 (*not* 753), you’ll have their lie-flat bed. Looking at the timetable there’s one of those per day, the rest of CO’s EWR-SFO transcons do not have lie-flats.

So I’d go with either that or the UA ps service. Note that UA ps only has lie-flats in F, not C, so CO may be cheaper as you wouldn’t be paying for F on a three-cabin plane.

Doesn't DL also have lie-flat seats in their J cabin on JFK-SFO?

Thank you for your help!

United p.s. had the service but for more than $6,000
CO was a little under $3,000

Get an Amtrak sleeper, much cheaper and more enjoyable.

I agree, if you have 3 days to kill, this is definitely the best option.
