Mobile Boarding Passes
Never used one. Will they just scan the pass on my iPhone or iPad? I can be paperless??
|
yes. I've never seen one used with an ipad, but I've used them on iphone, android and blackberry and they work well.

Works well on the iPad! In LAX on Saturday, I saw at least ten people use mobile bp. I'd say that it is catching on..

Out of curiosity, what happens when you use a mobile BP, but then run into an issue of your miles not being credited and the airline (esp an alliance partner that you weren't flying, but were crediting miles to) is asking for a copy of the BP? Since the BP is hosted on the airline's website, I assume it expires after you take your flight.
I thought about it when trying to claim miles on QF after I flew on AA. QF was requesting a copy of my BP. I used a regular BP, not a mobile phone one, but the thought did occur to me. |
One way would be to simply save a copy of the BP as a PDF on your computer. That way if someone needs a copy of it, you can just print one out for them.

What happens if you go through a security line where they insist you hold your boarding pass while walking through the metal detector?

I Just avoid LGA if flying AA. That's the only domestic AA station I know of where TSA still demands that you keep your boarding pass in your hand while walking through the metal detector. But I'll cut them some slack, because LGA is also the only station I know of where you still can just flash your Admirals Club card and ID for access to the club in Concourse D when not traveling, without having to bother getting a gate pass or doing the fully-refundable-ticket thing. |
That's why this stands out in my mind. I'm based out of NYC so I frequent those three airports.
Earlier I checked in online for my Lufthansa flight tomorrow. Then I read this thread and went back to try and get a mobile boarding pass but I guess I can't because I already printed one? |
