Buying a flight with a transfer and only using one half
I am looking at the cheapest flight options for my summer Europe trip. I saw a very good deal on JFK-Paris flight via Moscow. Russia was on my itinerary for the travel, and so to save money, I wanted to do this:
- Take the flight from JFK to Moscow, switch planes and then fly to Paris. - - - Take the train across Europe back to Moscow, and then use the second half of my return ticket. So, I would throw out the Paris-Moscow part and just board at transfer point. Would this theoretically speaking be possible? Thanks a lot in advance. |

Realistically, no. Your return flight will be canceled if you don't show for the Paris-Moscow leg, and you'll have to shell out a lot of cash to get home. Is it much more expensive for an open-jaw ticket (NYC-SVO-PAR, SVO-NYC)? edit: er, your return *ticket* will be canceled. The plane will still take off whether or not you are on it :) |
if you would do russia 1st, you could check prices for a stopover, then it wouldn't be a prob....good luck...
