Smallers transatlantic plane ever?

I saw a very tiny plane in JFK on LOT but did not write down the tail number but the bird was very small( my guess is around 160pax),
but a few months ago there was a swap on DL JFK-LHR 777, to 737-800. I remember because they were oversold by at least 40, I was on the next gate listening to the announcements. Have you heard or know of a smaller or equal in size transatlantic aircraft?

BA flies an A318 with a 35-seat all business class config on London City to JFK (with a tech stop in Shannon, Ireland). It is similar in size to the 737-600.

I think this is the smallest plane I know of that can cross the atlantic. I'm not sure how many passengers it can take but I think it's more fuel efficient than a 737-800.

An interestingly timed thread given that Sun County Airlines have loaded their summer 2011 schedule and are going to fly Minneapolis-Gander-London Gatwick twice a week using a 737-800.

Someone more knowledgeable on here can tell us whether it's the smallest aircraft, but I suspect that the A318 is.
