Do you get anything for turning in a smoker? I was on a transatlatic flight, and the guy in front of me comes back to his seat smelling of smoke. Three minutes later, FA over intercom says "Dont smoke in the bathroom, violates law, safety, etc." If you rat out the smoking person, any chance for $ or miles? Thx |

I bet alot of people try and use their cell phones in the bathroom. I would what kind of alarm they can put in them to detect phone cell phone use.
"Cell phone usage is also illegal here. Even though we do not have an alarm for it, be advised that if you do use your cell phone, your conversation is subjected to being played over the intercom and your conversation graded by fellow passengers." :p |

Anyways, they have something better, the imaginary detector.. "The Captain has informed me there are cell phones still turned on inside the AC, to maintain an on-time departure these must be turned off, not put into Airplane mode!" |

What I don't get is why so many plane bathrooms still have the ash trays in the doors.
Example of that in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHLxtm5_HRs If you rat out the smoking person, any chance for $ or miles? Thx Are you really that desperate for $ or miles? |

Your screen name fits you almost...(should be old crab) to a "t"!
I guess you have forgotten the "oh so many years" that smoking was allowed on flights!!! At one time at any seat and then there were "non-smoking" and "smoking" seats and then "none"! Your post reminds me of the people who, now, are "oh so offended" by cigarette smoke but when they were young and hanging in bars or other places the smoke would be so thick you couldn't see across the room but that didn't bother them then!!! Just venting as a former smoker who finds others telling me how to live "my" life (which has now gone beyond just smoking) as being offensive and, definitely, hypocritical!!! But, I must say, I don't believe in breaking the law.... |
Was Air Canada 797 the DC9 that had the inflight fire and made a emergency landing in Cincinnati. That was some time ago. What was the cause of the fire?

Besides, the security BS is so frustrating when travelling. I am sure that most of the hate the general public have for flying come from the anxiety created mostly by the airlines. Let's try : "As a matter of courtesy towards your fellow passengers and for your well being during this flight, we ask you to refrain from smoking.". When you add it up with the cell phone thing, the rude FA that answer to your glass of water request "No, I'm here for your safety" and such, the pax becomes distracted from what could be real threats or safety issues. |

I can assure you that I never, even in college, hung out in smoky bars. I have never smoked so much as a single cigarette in my entire life. In my single days, I would not so much as date a man who smoked.
|
If someone sat next to me reeking of smoke, I'd speak up.
|
This is why nicotine patches exist.
It's especially annoying to fly from Asia or Africa to a completely non-smoking airport in Europe and then to face a flight to the States without a cigarette - patch or not. Hate smokers all you want, but smoking tobacco is a fact of life. People smoke cigarettes. Get used to it. We don't want to bother you and we don't want you to bother us. Like Rodney King said..................... |

Have you never been in a schoolyard? Be ashamed of yourself for being a huge chickenchit. |
