Destination Unknown?

Hi- We are looking to take a 5 year anniversary trip. Needless to say I have a lot of expectations built up- I want it all for the low price ( as i am sure everyone else does). So I am hoping to get some pointers of where to go that has :
A.) A Beach.- But not so isolated that there isn't nightlife.

B.)Great Food-

C.)Nice Rooms- Hoping to find something that doesnt look to much like your everyday Large chain ( like Sandels or Beaches)

D.)Affordable- Hoping to find somewhere we can spend 7-10 nights, I like the idea of all inclusive but have yet to stay at one with good food ( but am still open to suggestions). I dont know if its crazy but want all of this for around 4,500 including air, food, drinks, excursions, ect.

I have found some places that look really nice- Las Ventanas, One and Only Palmilla, Jalouies Plantation.

I would like to go somewhere thats not to touristy? Like Cancun, or Jamaica- Maybe I just haven't been to the right spots on these island but I was hoping for something a little more unusal?

I know this is alot for a first forum, but my head feels like its gonna pop from looking on my own so any help is greatly appreciated.

Sign up for Jetsetter.com (or you are already signed up if you are a member of gilt.com). From time to time they offer some very nice looking resort properties that may be what you are looking for. They had two in Belize for example earlier this week and one in St Lucia that looked fantastic and at very good prices. Sometimes they are not so cheap, so don't let the $900 a night in Fiji scare you :p (though that is the price for two people and it includes airfare)

If you need an invite to get in, search Flyertalk for jetsetter.com or gilt.com, there are dozens around.

St. Martin fits the bill but it isn't cheap.

Have you thought about Pingtung?

Taiwan isn't the most popular tourist destination, but it is a very pleasant place to visit, with fun things to do day and night, and great food.

It will be pricey to get there, but once you're there, the cost will be reasonable compared to the Caribbean.

I agree Taiwan has to work on its popularity, especially among FTers.

In case OP decides to explore Taiwan a little bit, he can find suggestions/recommendations from our Asia Forum or in this thread. ;)

There are nice beaches in Kenting, Penghu, Green Island & East Coast. Each beach has unique features due to different geological formation. However, you'll need to take another flight/ferry to Penghu or Green Island. Cost would add up but the scenery definitely worth it.

I don't think the airfare (to KHH) is that pricey but definitely more costly than to say BKK. In terms of lodging and food, I can't say it'll be cheap, compared with other hot spots in SE Asia. But touring Taiwan can be luxurious or inexpensive, depending on your budget.
