Status of B767 engine pylon inspections
This story broke 3 days ago:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-0...-faa-says.html The AA forum has a thread, but this avid searcher couldn't find one here. Has United completed the inspections? Any impact on operations? Should I pack a parachute on my UA953 tonight? Inquiring minds, etc. |

"Inspections must be conducted after 8,000 flights rather than 10,000 as now required, and the examinations must be done within 400 flights, or 90 days, whichever occurs later, the Federal Aviation Administration said today in a statement." |

I thought that the pylon inspections were for GE CF-80 series 767's (ie what AA flies).
UA's 767 fleet have P&W engines. |
