All inclusive pricing.

The issue of airlines advertising fares as each way based on round trip purchase has come up many times. Is it that difficult for airlines to advertise all inclusive fares?
I know, some will say that the airline does not know what the total fare would be. Total amount depends on routing and the number of lay overs as PFCs are different at different airports. Airport taxes or facilities charges are the only variable costs. Every other cost included in the ticket is a fixed percentage of the fare or a fixed amount.
I say all the differences could be easily accommodated. Non stop flights offer convenience while flights with intermediate connections do not. In many markets, nionstop itineraries are priced higher than those with one or more stops.
If nonstop itineraries are priced higher than those with connections, the extra PFCs that one has to pay can be taken from the difference between non-stop fares and multi-stop fares.
For some destinations taxes and fees are as high as $250 and for some others fuel surcharge can be as high as $350. It's annoying to find out that the $200 each way fare can cost $900 plus. IN addition to this, there are baggage fees, lunch money and lots of other nickel and dime charges.
