Teaching Abroad
 

Has anyone taught abroad as a means to travel around? Just curious on what people's experiences were like, which programs they went on, and whatnot. That and I need a job and thought this would be a good way to get around as well.

I know there are lot of information out there on this topic but haven't heard much from people who actually done it. Seems to be a hit or miss sorta thing. Plus I'm kind of intimidated by the number of programs that are available. I hate to commit myself for an year to a job I start hating in the first month.

It depends on where you go. I have a friend who was teaching in China, and he didnt' like it, and another coworker was in Malaisia and really liked it and ended up staying for another contract. YOu will probably need to ask around, find participants and see what the programs entail.

Would teaching abroad involve actually having to teach which would cut into the travel time available? It would be like having a job at home, only with lower pay. You can travel on your weekends now.

:confused: What else would one do in a teaching job? Welders weld, bakers bake, driver drives, and in general workers work. I think it's reasonable to assume that teachers teach.
