Minneapolis to Beijing

Hello Travellers,
What is the best route from Minneapolis to Beijing. Via San Fransisco OR New york?

Also any websites to visit places around Beijing on weekend?

Thanks & Regards,
Dinkuu

These kind of posts drive me crazy.

What defines "best?" Best fare? Best premium economy offering? Fastest routing? Best IFE? Best food?

I like this routing. Nice and direct.

I'd recommend via Narita as well - 222 miles shorter than via SFO, nearly 600 miles shorter than via JFK.

It is not hard to guess OP want to use CA, as only CA has nonstop to PEK from SFO and JFK.

NRT is not a good airport for transit, a better routing would be UA MSP-ORD-PEK. I would much rather use ORD instead of NRT for transfer, as it is domestic terminal, no need to reclear security. NRT security line is a pain, always long.

I am more concerned about distance and time.

Looks MSP-ORD-PEK OR MSP-NRT-PEK are good.

Thanks,
Dinkuu

Chicago would be very attractive. That would be the most comfortable. Because once you arrive to Japan, you still have a few more hours to go. Depending on your financial situation, it would be worth 10%-15% more to fly direct from Chicago instead of a transit in Japan.

I've transited many times through NRT and never had a problem. The line moves at an acceptable rate. I would say the food options are better in Chicago, but I've never had much time to explore Narita.
