Does anyone know anything about this website? It's hard to find reviews of them via Google. It does say that Travel & Leisure magazine had a good writeup but I can't access the issue,Fodors also mentions them in a positive way. I usually book directly with airlines and am a bit nervous about booking a ticket with a discounter. I need a business class ticket and they were able to beat the current fare on the airline website by $2000 by "making a call" to someone at the airline. We leave in 3 weeks and business class is only 1/2 full on our flights. So, are they legit or should I avoid them/ Thanks in advance

Be careful that they dont use hidden-city ticketing.

For example if you are flying NYC-BKK, they will book you a SYR-NYC-BKK ticket which may cost less with a stopover at NYC, but you will be outta luck when you show up at NYC trying to check in

I would be very wary of a random website "calling someone at the airline"
On the other hand, they may have access to contracts, and may be legit.

Always pay with a credit card, and try to check them out with the local BBB. This won't guarantee success, but will give you some indications. If you do buy it, make sure you have a ticket number, and check with the airline direct to make sure it's a valid revenue ticket and not an award.

The BBB gives them an A+ rating, they are an accredited business

They have a couple complaints, but they were resolved.

While that may or may not mean anything, it's most certainly better then a lower rating.

Have you recently actually heard of this happening?

It sounds like the company is a bucket shop/discounter. They're registered locally in Dallas and the BBB says they're just fine.

If they can get you the price you want I'd go with it.

I gave him the exact flight dates,times and numbers as my other reservation. He said he called another broker who spoke with someone at the airline in "space or capacity control" who quoted the lower fare. Their office closed at 5pm Eastern so I will see if the fare and seat are still available. I was told I would have a ticket number and could select a seat and would have a reservation number with the airline. I think this sound pretty legit. Any other questions I should ask? Thanks

Lower Fares for Business Class
 

While I haven't used Accessfares,,, they seem alright.... I have used Cooktravel.net which is affiliated with American Express.

They are very upfront about what they do. They have called an airline and gotten me an upgrade from a full coach fare which saved me $3,000.

They also give back annual Amex rewards on almost any fare which cuts the price by a couple of hundred dollars on even published sale fares.

They also have a number of net and consolidator deals for business and First.

I think there are a couple other agencies that do the same thing,, but my best experience is with cooktravel.net

Best to call these type of agencies during business hours.. they get their deals because the airlines have empty seats and don't want to dilute their published fares in a public way.
