In-Flight Wifi
Ive searched on every term i could think of and not found a combined thread of the legacy carriers for inflight wifi. Is there a master list somewhere of the carriers that have it installed? either partially or fully? I know Airtran does fully, last i heard AA was partially and US was claiming the A321 would have it by end of Jan/Feb? Any ideas?
Also, mod's wasnt sure if this should go in TravelBuzz or Travel Technology feel free to move it if needed |
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.2; U; Series60/3.1 NokiaE71-2/100.07.76; Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)
AA has Aircell GoGo wi-fi installed in its 767-200 fleet and in 150 of its MD-80 aircraft (the remaining MD-80s will not be installed, as they will eventually leave the fleet). AA plans to FAA-certify and install GoGo in its 737-800 and 757 fleet in the near future. |
Delta has GoGo on 350 aircraft with an additional 200 getting it in 2010.

United offers it on some flights, they have a little wifi logo next to the flights with it on their selection screens.
There's a chart here that may help, though it won't tell you exactly which flights have it, just how many per airline http://gizmodo.com/5429860/the-compl...fi-cheat-sheet |

Thanks for all the info!

Gogo seems to have a lock on this business. No competition.

I used to love the service on Lufthansa. Boeing Connexxion. Super fast. Could video iChat on the plane.

On VX as we speak and the wifi is actually pretty nice. At least as fast as my 3G connection if not faster. Wow it can really make a flight move along having wifi.
