Do pilots/cabin crew fly to different destinations often?

Just curious to know how often pilots and cabin crew get to fly to different destinations?
For instance, if a pilot is flying LHR to SYD this week, would he/she be assigned to LHR-NRT etc next week? Are they shuffled around on a weekly / monthly / yearly basis?

On most airlines/routes I fly most often and have asked, they fly to a different destination just about every single flight. Most of my flights are international, so not sure what USA domestic flight attendant schedules are like. If a particular FA though has some highly sought after foreign language skill, then that FA will likely be assigned to one particular route, or perhaps multiple routes if the airline flies multiple routes to that country.

I thought pilots bid on their routes (for a month at a time), with the most tenured getting first dibs?

As do FAs, at least on the legacy carriers. I would think that if you have lots of seniority and like a particular route that you could get it almost every time you bid on it. (There are tales of a legendary UA FA who had seniority number 1 or 2, who always flew the same long-haul route.) But, if you prefer to see different places you can bid on a variety of places.

I was chatting with a UA FA recently on a lightly-booked TALT flight, and she said that she liked to go different places and had recently been to Moscow. I don't know how layovers always work, but she said she had 2-3 days there and had a great time.

I thought pilots would appreciate and seek-out common airports because of their familiarity with approach plates...
