Where to go?
Need some ideas on where to go next year to use up my SWUs.
Here are the parameters: Want to go somewhere warm. Want to maximize use of SWU (fly over an ocean). Departing from SFO. Timeframe Sept-Dec. Have 6 SWUs to use. Our travel party will be 4. Myself, wife, 3 1/2 YO, 4-6mo old. Activities we like are basically relaxation, hanging out by the pool, golf, spa. |
Thailand, Thailand, Thailand.
Your question was a little vague in some of the other parameters as far as budget and such, but Thailand I have always felt is a great vacation spot. It has everything for everybody. You can also split it up if beaches and relaxing are not the only thing you want to do, hit Bangkok for a little bit before or after the relaxing. You will have to get creative on your routing, but you have found the right people to help you out on maximizing your travel. |
You could fly to SIN and on to DPS too.
So, I guess on UA metal to either BKK or SIN, then connect to TG, Air Asia, Silk Air, etc to places like HKT or DPS. But, I have to ask you this question. Do you really want to travel half way around the world with 4 to 6 month old son/daughter? Otherwise, somewhere in the Caribbean wouldn't be nicer? |
I hear Spain is nice. Hopefully you could put together something nice with UA/LH or if on AA, they fly to Madrid and Barcelona.

Either Thailand or deep South America would be on my list, depending on what you want to do on arrival. |

My wife's preferred spots are Hawaii and possibly a Disney Carribean cruise. Those would be our fallback but I shutter to think about using SWU's for a transcon... Budget is $10-$15k |
