Space missing between names on e-ticket. Will this a problem?
Hi,
i've booked some flights to travel inside India from a www.edreams.com. My name is Mario Correia de Sa and i used the name Mario (as first name) and Correia Sa (as surnames) and the e-tickets came as MARIO / CORREIASA (with no space). Do you think i will have problems boarding this flights? Notice that the "de" between "Correia de Sa" isn't realy a surname but a linking name, like "Bin" or "of". Thats why i omitted it. Thank you for your help. |

tickets never space between names so that's fine, but does your passport have the de? if so then it should have been used also. |

tickets never space between names so that's fine, but does your passport have the de? if so then it should have been used also. In the name field it has, but in that area on the bottom where the name is spaced with those "<<<<<" it doesn't. I usualy ignore the "de" even when i sign my name. |
Can someone give me a more certain answer? I realy don't want to get my holidays ruined cause of a "de".

I have a space in my first name and it shows up on the eticket without a space. It is not a problem with the airlines. It sometimes means my passport does not go into the US immigration computers properly.

im not realy worried bout the space now. more worried about the word "de" not being there. ty for the help.

I'm a woman, and my boarding pass with United has 3 letters added: SRA (meaning Mrs in Spanish). Let's say my name and passport name is "Laura Andrea Smith", well, according to United my boarding passes read: "SMITH/LAURASRA" or LAURA SRA SMITH (SRA LAURA SMITH according to their website, meaning Mrs. Laura Smith). I tried to change it, I would like to have this SRA deleted, also I'm single, so not Mrs. Smith me. I emailed United with this specific request and never got an answer, nor the SRA deleted as of today. Aside from that, I haven't had any problems with my boarding passes, at least not in the US and Canada. I think it is because all your info and full name is actually on their computers and linked to your partial name printed on the boarding pass. Hope it helps. |
Ty for your help. But my situation is a little different cause the mistake is in last name and there is a name missing (only the "de" though)
More replys from people that could help me would be great. ty |
I called Jet airways representative here in portugal and they told me there was no problem. Ty for your help

No you should have zero problems. The airlines all use similiar reservations systems that are taught not to accept certain punctuation or characters in the PNR field, such as hyphens, commas or blanks as in your case.

My S.O.'s last name is multiple words, and long, never fits. They always mess up the spelling, and sometimes leave words out, like de. It's never been a problem, you'll be fine, I highly doubt it will even be mentioned by the agent.
But if on the off chance it is, always good to be prepared in advance with a solid excuse. Personally, I'd go with the excuse a. it is my second middle name so I did not put it, or b. it means of and is technically not part of my last name (I'd suggest a over b personally) |
