Don't want to hijack this thread, but on a related note, does anyone know how to export TripIt data to a hard drive or save it in some format? I have 130 trips over the last 7 years and would HATE to lose all of that information. I refer back to it a lot looking for particular hotels etc.
Wrote to TripIt and they said they had no function to do that, but there is always a work around ;). I just don't know what it is! |

SkyHops now allows you to do a single-click import of all your flights from TripIt. This currently includes the start and end airports, date of the flight and airline information.
You can also easily export all your SkyHops flights as a CSV file. So in addition to being able to get nice visualizations and stats you could use SkyHops as a way to just get a CSV dump of your flight data. Feel free to reply here or email us at [email protected] if you have any questions. |

The map is very interactive. You can click on individual airports to see only the flights to/from that airport, filter your flights by domestic/international and date range. The charts also dynamically update based on your selection (make sure you click 'Toggle Stats' to see the charts and stats). |
I keep getting "Server Error (500)" when I try and do the import on Skyhops. Any idea what to do?

Thanks for letting me know. We fixed the issue that was causing this. Please try again and let me know if you're still having trouble importing your flights. |
Very cool site. A couple of thoughts...
*As a user, I'd like the ability to override the 'override of suspected duplicates' one flight at a time, both at initial import as well as at a later time. *As a user, when sharing my map of flights to Facebook I would like the post to include a personalized thumbnail of my flight map. *As a user, when adding flights I would like to be able to add multiple segments as part of a single add. |
@costalguy Thanks for the great feedback! On your last point, we've now made it easier to enter multiple segments one after the other. When you add a flight we auto-populate the fields to make it very quick to enter the next segment, e.g. we assume that you're taking off from the same airport you landed in your previous segment, on the same airline and on the same date.
On the TripIt import the current behavior is that if there are two flights on the same date and from/to the same airports we consider them duplicates. We keep the one you already have on SkyHops and skip the import of the duplicate one. Are there situations where you'd want the import to be handled differently? How about if we just show you the duplicate flights that were skipped? That way you'd have a chance to at least enter them manually if you still want to include them. The personalized thumbnail of your flight map in your share 'snippet' is a good idea. Added it to our implementation queue. |

Thank you so much for the link. It has a very intuitive design and easy import from Tripit. Really liked it. ^
Flight info is great, but am still looking for a way to export ALL trip data from TripIt (hotels, notes etc) that essentially save the itineraries to a hard drive file or cloud based storage. |

The FlightMemory site offers this and I would be willing to pay for a map...except that they don't have a way to auto import the flights. See here: http://www.flightmemory.com/poster/ Maybe that could be something you could implement on your site...Could be a $ maker. ;) |

A few of those have closed down. Try Tripexporter (dot com). I can't post URL's yet. You can get all the key fields out of Tripit including departure/ arrival times, flight numbers, distance etc. You can also get accommodation, road etc.
