Very nice!

I have been waiting for this feature for a while. Finally can focused on the operating carrier without a bunch of codeshares for the same flight clustering up the display.

Generally, Ticket Designators are a code on tickets to indicate if a type of special discount is applied. In this case, as noted by hillrider: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...l#post19836426

Forgive me if this has been asked already, but does anyone know if EF updates in real time or updates every X hours?

If someone bought a ticket 5 minutes ago, would EF update itself to reflect a change in the number of seats in booking class X? Or would I have to wait, say, 4 hours to see such a change?

Each time you submit a query on EF, EF passes that query along to one of several GDSes and returns the result. The GDSes should always return real-time inventory; thus, EF should always show real-time inventory. I am fairly certain that EF does not cache any results (as that would defeat much of the accuracy and purpose of subscribing to EF).

That is correct. All user searches are based on real-time data.

Fare Information search not working? When I put in my search criteria I get back "no entries". Searching WAS to FRA for August. Seems like there should be plenty of fare info out there.

--------
Nevermind. Must have been a momentary glitch. Working now.

I know EF doesn't generally cache results, but I noticed a week or so ago that DLC-PEK CZ flights were returning 3 award seats in First for almost all flights of the day during CNY!

I got super excited and got on the horn with CZ right away just to be shut down immediately saying no availability! I re-ran the querie while on the line with CZ, even tried to hang up and call again but both times were told no seats! Of course I ran the querie again a few days later and it was showing the more sensical 0 for almost all flights except the crappiest times.

I know there is not enough data to get a specific reply but just curious to know what gives?

ExpertFlyer doesn't cache anything at all. There could have been an issue with airline-GDS host communications at the time.

That is why we suggest you email [email protected] for questions about specific searches.

I was confused cause I thought EF gets award inventory directly from CZ so I ruled out any GDS faults. Is that not the case?

A direct connect search still needs to be routed thru the GDS as a conduit. The difference is a non-direct connect search asks the GDS for the answer and a direct connect search asks the airline host (thru the GDS "pipe") for the answer. That doesn't rule out an issue where an airline host is having an issue, even with a direct connect request.
