Can anyone give me advice why I continually get an error on the Flightaware app when trying to create an Alert? Happens on both iphone and ipad apps. Not an issue on their website.

It works fine on my Android (LG G4).

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

Tried that and still didn't work. I am able to set it up on the website and once I refresh on the app it shows up.

FlightAware past history shows cancellations?

I'm trying to use FlightAware to gague the cancellations of Royal Air Maroc flight JFK-CMN: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/RAM201/history

I know there is one flight per day, usually leaves around 8p. As I look at the past 4 months, I can see the past delays. But what I can't tell is if that flight is cancelled. The history doesn't seem to report cancellations specially. So can I conclude a "skipped" date means the flight is cancelled for that day since there should be one flight daily?

FlightAware - Inbound Flight Tracking

I noticed a change in the way Flight Aware tracks flights. Instead of showing where the inbound aircraft comes from it tracks the history of the flight number. This is interesting but most people want to know where the aircraft is coming from and flight number tracking does not do that in most cases.

Right side of the screen, at the top, right under blue Get Notifications bar are links for "View track log" and "Track inbound plane"

flightview is also a good tool, and most times it publishes were the a/c is coming from. I actually prefer this to flightaware for mobile.

Flightaware radar accuracy?

Anyone have background on Flightaware radar - where it comes from, it is supposed to be accurate, etc? I was tracking MrsCP on a flight this morning. Here's Weather Underground and Weather Channel

Here's FA

and then 10 minutes later

Harvey seems to be there, but there's what appears to be a non-existent Ohio River Valley storm that then becomes a Nor'easter 10 minutes later. Lexington, KY and Philly are both reporting Clear/Sunny from what I can see.

(Yes, I'm bored this morning...)

Flightaware alerts

guys - what does it exactly mean 'the captain has the flight plan' and can this be used to determine when the flight would actually leave? Does flightaware send this alert before the gate closes? Just trying to determine how close we are to departure if I'm in a lounge 2 mins from the gate and if there any better alert I should rely on

Thx

This may be related to sam007's question. I use the FlightAware web site. I read the recent reviews of the FlightAware App and see there are a lot of negatives.

One bit of information I've been unable to find on the web interface is the "filed flight plan".

For example, I was tracking a flight last week, that had departed from the gate, but was held on the ground for over 2 hours. The flight shows up on the airport page under "Scheduled Departures", which only shows the gate departure time. When the flight eventually takes off it then appears in the upper list Departures with the actual takeoff time. During the 2 hours, there was no information other than the gate departure time.

Presumably somebody has a schedule for when a given flight will take off, so they can order the aircraft on the ground and in the air. Is there any type of flight plan that would give a clue when the flight is actually scheduled for takeoff? Can that be access through FlightAware or other web sites?

Flight Aware history query

I am using Flight Aware to track flight cancelations. When I want to search any history, the main option is to buy it! What free options are there? Thx.

Has anyone purchased the premium membership? I am interested in finding specific aircraft information, for example, but it is quite expensive. Not sure if there is anyone interested in sharing a membership?
