Using Facebook to help with travel?
 

Hi, I'm a relatively new Facebook user... but I'm curious if anybody has used Facebook to help them travel, and if so, how have you used it?

Did you use it to find out more about particular destinations?
To try to find people who live in places you might want to visit?
For something else travel related?

If Facebook has a billion users all around the world, it seems like there could certainly be some interesting travel related connections.

Hey I have personally used facebook for traveling. Mainly it was either to find out more about different destinations and deals. Airline companies and travel companies use facebook to put out promotions and things like that.

I have joined a couple of groups to connect with thousands of travelers all over the world and learn, in easy to digest language, more about off-the-beaten path experiences, travel tips, deals, work abroad opportunities, etc.
