I have been using Planefinder for a few years. It's generally very good, but history is only available for a few weeks / months in the past, so don't leave it too long to check.

Spent US 2.99 for the expanded version from wandr.me supposedly including international flights, only to discover I can't find a single international flight.

edit: Contacted Seth and got a refund for the charge. Apparently the international tail number data is incredibly sparse, hence it is just a small extra you'd be getting as a member, it's not something you should solely be paying for.
Thanks for the quick and honest communication Seth.

Came across this site earlier today: http://www.dfld.de/Mess/StatAirportT...2.2014&R=9&S=1.

Seems to have some content from German airports but I cannot really figure it out.

This website is so useful! I was able to locate the tail numbers for two BA flights I took in 2013.

I think this is only for Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ)

None of these seem to provide historical data from many years ago where you can input flight number and date to pull up registration number...or am I missing something?

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics link is out of date. Try this one:

https://www.transtats.bts.gov/ONTIME/Departures.aspx

Flight info for US flights since 1987, but Tail Numbers were logged starting Jan 1995.
SkyTeam777 and FastTrak2Elite like this.

I was delighted when I read this! Unfortunately the two flights I have been long looking for are missing Looking for US Airways flights DCA-BUF on Sep 1, 2007 (it was in the morning, but only an afternoon flight is listed) and BUF-LGA on the next day (none listed). Thanks anyway!

Is this link for domestic flights only?

I've spent ages trying to find a tail number of a UA 747 I flew on from ORD-HKG in 1999 but I've had no luck...
