A few questions for those in the know...I've been Elite for just over 7 years now (almost SE a few years of those), and am now 50K.

To this point, haven't really had to worry/try to retain my status, but now with a little one and thoughts of expanding the family, I try to minimize time away from home.

As a result, this year I should just barely retain 50K (also selected the lower requal as a backup), and so I'm trying to educate myself on the tools available for mileage runs, etc. should I need to be creative with a future booking.

I reviewed some of the other threads, and saw one recently regarding:

http://matrix.itasoftware.com

Are there any others that I should look at, or be aware of?

Also, for upgrades/seat availability, I know there is KVS, but are there others?

Any of these tools free (OR cost effective for occasional use) or have App's?

Thanks for any help.

Not in the same realm as Matrix (which is excellent!), but http://www.fliesea.com/ is a great resource to find out what REALLY is available to be booked for Aeroplan rewards.

There's no app for it, but the site itself is extremely mobile-friendly.

ITA is free and awesome.
FT's mileage run forum is very useful too.

I pay for Expert Flyer, but I don't really use that as an MR tool.

Thanks for the replies...

For upgrade possibilities, is KVS the one that everyone tends to use?

Or are there others?

ExpertFlyer is a lot easier to use than KVS.

Hmm.. Good info. Maybe we can have some comparatives and pros and cons for the tools outlined?
