flightconnections.com - worldwide flights route map

Just released:

http://www.flightconnections.comAll flights in the world on a map.
-Click an airport,
-Click a destination,
-You'll see links to airlines providing that service.

Another option is to search from zipp or city, within a specified radius.

I like it, keep up the good work

Can I ask how different this is from "Airline Route Mapper, a new tool that allows you to view and explore route maps of over 600 airlines."? besides web-based vs. windows-based

or http://www.flajts.com/?

Looks good. Where is the data coming from?

GRALISTAIR Apr 4, 2013 11:13 am

Excellent tool - thanks.

London Heathrow is spelt incorrectly.

I think it is showing some flights as non-stop (direct) when there actually isn't one. For instance, there isn't a direct flight from SFO to GRU. The one on LAN stops in LIM. There isn't a non-stop from LAX to EZE, but it shows one on Delta. SFO to BKK and SVO also don't exist as a non-stop.

@Jerry After a quick look I think the biggest differences are:
-FlightConnections.com is web-based.
-You can search from 'anywhere' to 'anywhere',
-Discover connecting flights with different airlines
-Direct links to airlines.
-Find hotels and carrental near airports.
-Schedule information.
@Circumknowitall
We buy our data from one of the well known companies providing airline data
@solosf
You're right..
On the route SFO-GRU, Lan uses one aircraft and one flightnumber LA 2609
I think that's the reason they pass it as a direct flight.

This works way better than the other user posted. That one doesn't even show MIA-DUS that airberlin has a nonstop flight, this one shows it.

Very cool how do you plan on monetizing? Would hate to see it go

Wow - I didn't know there was an RDU-ANC direct flight on Saturdays on United. :-)

Seriously, the direct flight data is unusable. There are at least 20 phantom "direct" flights from RDU.

ilovesprint Apr 22, 2013 6:13 pm

fyi there is no southwest non stop between dtw and ind

jimmyjoy Apr 26, 2013 10:05 am

@brettalb, @ilovesprint Thanks for feedback. These 1 stop flights will be filtered out in next beta release.

mapping flights - filter by alliance

A general question about alliances:

We want to add an alliance filter to our routemap FlightConnections.com
The idea:@:-) When you select for example 'Star Alliance', you will only see airports and flights of this alliance.

Some airlines codeshare with airlines wich are not in the same -selected- alliance.

Should we also show these codeshare flights operated by non-members?
Are these flights part of selected alliance-network?
