ITA Matrix Search: http://matrix.itasoftware.com

You can sometimes see flights, fares and detailed fare rules that may not be reflected on an airline's website. Please read the thread for some tips and tricks, screen shots, etc.

A related thread, ITA-Matrix-PowerTools - Userscript for Orbitz/DL/UA/AA/BA/CZ/IB/LA/LH/LX/TK, discusses a user script which is maintained by fellow flyertalk members to enhance the already powerful Matrix of ITA Software by providing new features and booking links.

Additional details and tips on the use of ITA's advanced routing code feature can be found in the following long-standing Mileage Run Discussion threads:

Thanks all!

Finally, I could make it in ANA website and ITA matrix.

I always use "Time bars" view in ITA matrix but I found this view shows a limited number of results compared to the others.

Again, Thank you for your help!

I am a longtime fan of the ITA userscript, and really appreciate those who have made it possible. I have run across the following situation a few times recently, so I thought I'd post it here for insight from the experts.

After entering my criteria in the main ITA screen and getting the Calendar screen showing fares, the results I see on the Flights screen bear no resemblance to the fares shown on the Calendar. In the instance I document below, I clicked on several dates in the calendar and found significantly different fares on the Flights screen. Is this a known issue, or just a periodic anomaly? (FYI: the advance controls parameters are "minconnect 0:55; minmiles 3280")

Direction or insights are appreciated. TIA

Any way to exclude all basic economy fares ?
OW flights(RDU-SAN)
I've tried
f ~bc=e n b
f ~bc=E ~bc=B ~bc=N
f ~(bc=e bc=b bc=n)

It's my understanding that Basic economy for
UA=N
AA=B
DL=E

Superficially, the answer to your question is to use or & to join the specifiers depending which way you prefer to think of it, for example from earlier in the thread:

(if replicating by hand, vs. copy-and-paste, note that that the ~ is a tilde, not a dash -- it looks a bit ambiguous in my browser font)
Or equivalently:

However this will exclude those fare classes across all results. So you would exclude E on not only DL but also UA and AA.

Not sure of the conditional logic is sophisticated enough to do what I think you're doing, which is to exclude each carrier's basic economy fare.

EDIT: argh, FT removes "pipe" symbols? Not going to try to fix this on my phone hope it makes sense anyway...

Can anyone tell me how to get this ticketed out...if it's at all possible?

I've used Powertools to pretty good success, but a couple of the sites seem to have become totally unreliable. Ever since AC has updated their site it's dead, search doesn't even kick in, Priceline never seems to work for me, and in this case I can't make farefreaks work.

FWIW the search is Matrix - ITA Software by Google

Hope it's alright to post that. MODs, if not, lemme know.

Unfortunately matrix results links aren’t shareable. You’ll have to post a screenshot.

Works okay for me. Maybe because I turned off the fancy new editor.

Any insights on this situation? I've run into it a couple of more times since I posted this question, so I thought I'd check back here to see if I received any responses. Thanks.

BRAVO-that works, I do believe
I ended up booking on SWA as they were less than all the majors with some good timing for this trip

Thanks for the help though

For those of us based in UK/Europe, it's a familiar fact that starting a long-haul trip from anywhere but London (colloquially "exEU" even though the group can include CAI and IST !) can save significant amounts of money.

In that spirit, please find below a list of (almost) all the airports currently served by direct short-haul BA services into LGW, LCY and LHR, formatted into comma-separated groups of 5 to allow easy copy and paste into ITA Matrix for searching exEU itineraries.

Please feel free to add to Wiki ... or delete if not useful
