The same thing happens with Kayak. It could be a sporadic issue with Gmail.
I've tried resetting the inbox sync, but it didn't help.
Tugging this thread forward, since my last post (in September, it looks like), I have not had a single Delta confirmation automatically pull from Gmail to Kayak. Everything else works fine - usually within minutes, but if not then within a couple hours. Hilton, Marriott, National, Hertz, Southwest, AA...all of them get pulled over fine. Heck, even a couple AY confirmations got picked up. Delta is the only one that Kayak doesn't scrape over.

It's easy enough to just forward them, just mildly annoying.

Anyone has an idea what happened to kayak.eu ? is it still somewhere available? It was possible to use this website to get the result of all kinds of European OTAs so the price was always cheaper than just using the local kayak website. Now it's just redirecting to the local website or suggesting kayak.com which is the US version...

I am facing a problem with the app. I use it to get notifications on flight delays, gate changes, etc but since I updated my phone to Android 10, the notifications have stopped. None of the app settings have been changed and I have also done the uninstall / re-install. Any suggestions?

Kayak used to have an option to check all the flights that depart from a specific airport, the link was written like this: kayak.com/direct/YYY where YYY is the IATA code for the airport you wanted to see the flights. Today I checked this link and it shows a 404 error code. Anyone knows what happened?

Does Kayak now force a mobile user to log in before using the app? Initial page now says "KAYAK is better when you sign in" and "we made a small change to help you get more from the app"

Then 5 different sign in options - Apple, email, FB, Google, booking.com. Nothing that says "use without signing in"

Am I missing something?

EDIT: Confirmed with chat they now force you to provide contact and marketing info to use the app. It's no longer on my phone.

I am having problems with KAYAK not searching all hotels. For example Paris 4/6 for 1 night (other dates are an issue as well). Hilton, Marriott and Intercontineal brands do not show up. I have verified that no filters are on but it looks like only independent hotels (and a few ACCOR hotels) are showing up. The hotels show on other sites (for example Priceline which is also owned by the same company, bookings holdings, as owns Kayak) I checked other destinations in France and also in the US for those dates and it seems to works fine.

Question Kayak Explore

I can't seem to find what the red and green dots signify on Kayak Explore search results.

Hovering over them, they say RESTRICTED or FLEXIBLE, red and green respectively.

Any idea what this means?
thanks

Booking directly with Kayak

Kayak currently has a pretty good price for a flight on British Airways. However, it looks like the flight is booked directly with Kayak and not with the airline (or another 3rd party). Has anyone booked directly with Kayak before? I'm wondering:
1) Would I get FF miles
2) If the flight is cancelled due to COVID, would I get a refund easily
3) If I needed to cancel/change, would that process be reliable?

1) yes
2) & 3) depends, once you click on it, you'll see support by [company], they offer direct bookings with LM group, vayama, airlines,...
If its with an OTA, then most likely they'll charge their service charge for any changes / cancellations / refund requests, if its directly with the airline, then no extra service fee.

I believe kayak is awful

I don't like any OTA, but kayak might be the worst offender.

From flights that don't exist, to suggesting taking Greyhound to catch a train to make a flight, there's no insult consequential enough to hurl kayak's way.

I've added in a few screenshots documenting my historical UX with them. Perhaps the only reason I still consider using them is that editing the hyperlink (e.g. by date/airport code) really speeds up the bait-and-switch results one must be accustomed to while using an OTA: https://www.kayak.com/flights/lax-mt...y?sort=price_a.

If a train or a bus is (a segment of) the best way (or a reasonably good way) to get where you're going, why wouldn't you want it to be shown among the options?

Let's take the US as one example. The bus network, albeit vast, is hellish. Amtrak, save for some Northeast routes, isn't much on frequency/punctuality. Then there's weather. Once you start adding more John Hughes movie tropes, then you might as well just take a virtual vacation.

Plus, if I knew I was planning to add in multiple modes of transportation, I'd book them individually, since then I could see individual schedules, as opposed to whatever kayak chokes up.

Kayak is a disaster.

How is this any different from Kayak including results on an airline that you prefer to avoid? And inclement weather certainly seems to disrupt flights far more than it does train service.

If you don't want to travel by train or bus, don't travel by train or bus. Other people still may find those options useful, just as they may be willing to fly with the airline that you don't like.

I'm aware you can manually refresh the link in Kayak's Trips Settings. But every time you do, you get a new a link, which means I have to manually remove the old one from my calendar, manually add in the new one, and then send the new link to any staff, family members, etc. who also used the old one and ask that they also delete the old calendar and add in the new one. Dumb design!
Yes, I'm having this problem as well. Resetting the link didn't help me as the new link doesn't include the new trip as well. The trip was created more than 24h ago.
