Good tool/app to keep track of flights?
I fly 60% BA but 40% other OW and other airlines and as I have always >10 future bookings would like an app that shows in clear manner all my bookings and, ideally, keeps a log after the flights done, but that is secondary.
I am currently using FlightTrack Pro on iPhone/iPad to remember myself what flights I have booked, but obviously you cannot even log reservation number, so I just check those in emails or BA.com etc. I tried Tripit but it does not pick up all my bookings that I send, and do not think very clear lay-out. I tried checkmytrip but it does not show more than 3 future bookings and also not very clearly. Is there app you can log your bookings, clearly visible, and ideally shows them off-line as well? Edit: on BA.com you can see other non OW booking details as well, would be good if they would remember them and then BA.com would be my source for all my bookings. Yes some would be on non-OW but that way would give them great insight in frequent traveller patterns! |

MyFlights is good, and notifies you of changes / delays, but is only fully automated with Amadeus bookings. In particular, you have to enter AA details manually. But if most of your flights are with BA (or through BA) it's a breeze

I'm pretty happy with awardwallet. It tracks my flight and hotel bookings pretty accurately and automatically as long as you are a FF member of the airline you are flying with. It also tracks all your points and miles across reward schemes very well.

Awardwallet seems to have great trouble pulling bookings from airline sites, and the iphone app has only very minimal functionality (i.e., no booking info at all), IMO
Apologies to the OP for what, in hindsight, is not a great suggestion. |

Looking at myflights, I believe they don't synch between iphone and ipad yet? Flighttrack supposedly does but gives errors for me. Does myflight keep log of flights once flown? Probably will give this a go as well. Thanks! |

Afraid the investment in Apple is made with too many devices already! Will play a bit more with checkmytrip web version on ipad and see what that gives and whether I can get 5 trips on iphone to work!

I use Flight Update Pro on the iPhone - it keeps all the info and is very easy to use. It synchronises flights your iPhone Calendar.
If you want an app that holds all travel plans (hotels, activities, flights, transport etc) Travel Track Pro is very good. Both Apps alert you to gate changes, delays etc in real time. |

There are a lot of apps out there that are so close to being ideal - but none that hits the spot. Am I greedy in wanting an app that downloads all info from a booking ref, tracks changes to flights, links through to seatguru maps and can handle hotel reservations and loyalty points too?! |

Myflights does keep a log of flights once flown and flights can be entered retrospectively. The app is perfect for inducing moments of sheer uncensored nostalgia.

I don't know of any service that can automagically pull details of past flights. I guess the number of people who want such data is pretty small - though perhaps not in this thread :)

For now though seems for future flights all apps are not great, think I might stick to Flighttrack! |

I use both, although you would easily manage with just Travel Track Pro. With the amount of travel I do I find both extremely useful and very much a time saver. |
This thread has been moved from BAEC forum as it is too valuable to keep it just for ourselves. There is a permanent redirect in BAEC forum if anyone wishes to find it.

I like awardwallet as well... I find it intuitive and very helpful that it tracks both my miles and my flights/hotels, etc.

The way Flight Update Pro works is by either manual entry or quasi-automatic by setting up a free Tripit account. Each time you make a reservation you can either forward the confirmation email to Tripit or set Tripit up to automatically import email. Once you open the App it automatically imports the Tripit data (which can be used off-line and puts your flights directly in to the iPhone Calendar which in turn synchronises with Outlook or whatever calendar you have on your PC/Mac.
Travel Track Pro can handle all this ... and it gets its info in exactly the same way as Flight Update Pro (they are from the same software company). I use both, although you would easily manage with just Travel Track Pro. With the amount of travel I do I find both extremely useful and very much a time saver. World Mate does all of this as well as archives your previous trips. Everything in one place, can link to social media sites (if you so choose), you can forward trip details to others via email. It has lots of service features (Tip calculator, weather, currency converter etc). The hotel info can take you right to a maps, phone #'s. [U I love it.[/U] I've used it for a few years, had it on my BB and now my iphone with no hiccups. The Gold version is 9.99 (much cheaper than Tripit pro) and will update you with flight status and gate changes before the airlines do. |
Here's another one (new): Flight+ : iPhone app (£1.99) and an iPad app (£2.99)
It is slickly programmed. It can import flights from Tripit, does the usual stuff that other apps such as FlightTrack do, but exceptionally can also show route maps of all flights of any airline, or maps of all flights to/from any airport. I was seriously impressed. |

Thanks! 2.0 also has route maps (showing individual trips, and also maps of all past and future flights) and calendar integration |
Thread resurrected!
Just switched from iPhone to Android and am looking for a MyFlights replacement. Myflights was PERFECT for what I wanted - just enter one Amadeus code and all details retrieved automatically - including, crucially, seating info. Then if anything changed with a reservation, I'd get an alert. Is there an equivalent app for the Android OS? Closest I've found after reading this thread is Worldmate, but I don't think that supports Amadeus and therefore would lack automatic retrieval of seat selection / change info. Not keen on spending £10 (per year!) if it lacks those. Any Android users care to suggest? Thanks! |
Just as a side note... I am planning on writing an Android version, but it's a way off. I need to write it from scratch (and learn a new programming language) but it is on the wish list!
|
I still use FlightAware .. one of the first web flight trackers, and I think still the best.
I guess I need to try a few more, but I like being able to choose different overlays for viewing the flight (topo, weather, airnav) |
Has anyone else noticed problems with FlightTrack?
It was as much as 15 minutes late with updates today. Plus when I tried inputting some future flights for July on Delta, FlightTrack gave me incorrect scheduling and airport information. |
My favorite app is flighthero because it tracks very nicely a got a bunch of other features such as sync with tripit, with calendar or notification etc. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....ik.flighthero
(I use Android, HTC Desire S) |

Problems again today… The gate sign updated a few minutes ago, but the FlightTrack still shows old information.
This is unacceptable, I will be moving to something else. |
Just installed flighthero, it is not updating ether. Maybe they are all getting information from the same place, and that is where the problem is?
|
FlightTrack just updated but flighthero did not. :(

NK 245 LAS-SAN
Departure time: FlightTrack: 7:45 flighthero: 7:26 Current time: 7:33 |
Shoot, I did not know I only had 15 minutes to get refund. If you try an Android application and do not like it, make sure to request refund within 15 minutes.
|
At 8:24 flighthero still showed Estimated departure time of 7:26.
At 8:25 flighthero changed to 8:19. And why is the arriving airport plan shows Commuter terminal? That is not where this flight is arriving. Ok, I am done with flighthero. |
