All Airlines Spreadsheet Advice
Hi All,
I have spent quite a while developing a spreadsheet for my own personal use and after seeing quite a few posts over the last year on 'how people keep track of thier miles' I thought I would develop it further and then post it on this forum. Before I start modifying it I wondered if a few of you could take the time to answer 2 questions? 1. How many FF programs would you want to keep track of? I currently have a maximum of 5 airline programs - is this enough? 2. These are the airlines the spreadsheet currently supports - are there any additional that are popular that I've missed? Below is my current list. American Airlines AAdvantage Club BMI Diamond Club British Airways Executive Club Cathay Pacific Marco Polo Club Continental Airlines OnePass Delta Airlines SkyMiles Program Emirates Skywards Etihad Airways Guest Club Gulf Air Falcon Flyer KLM Flying Blue Program Lufthansa Miles & More Qatar Airways Privilege Club Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Many thanks Andrew |
Why wouldn't you use awardwallet and export to excel? That way all updates are automatic.
If your spreadsheet has other functuionality, at least awardwallet could be used for the data import so you would not have to key in changes. 5 airline accounts is probably about right but I'd add a few more in case great offers come up. BA is a perfect example. I never thought I'd have an account with them until the 100K bonus came out. Also, there is no US Airways on your list. Do you want to track UR and MR points since those are easily converted to airline miles? |
Hi,
I do use Award Wallet, although I've never exported to Excel before. I just tried it and it's pretty good - I might try and incorporate it into the sheet as it shouldn't be too hard. That said, updating actual miles is only a small part of the spreadsheet. Yes, UR and MR will be in there, as will other types of spend such as hotels, car hire, etc etc that can be converted to miles. I'll be asking quite a few more questions later on regarding functionality, but for now, I'm trying to gage which FF programs and how many people track. Not sure how I missed US - I'll add that one in for sure! Thanks |
You're also missing UA/CO.
I'm not sure I understand -- what would the spreadsheet offer that AwardWallet doesn't already offer? |

Thanks for the suggestions.
Another quicky. I am thinking of seperating information for each airline into 4 main categories (if applicable). Miles earnt for redemptions (RDM) Elite qualification Miles (EQM) Elite qualification points (EQP) Elite qualification segments (EQS) Is there any other way that you could gain status, aside from through a CC program or something like that. My thought process that every airline should fit into the categories above? I.e for BA RDM is avios points, EQP is Tier Points and EQS is BA flights. Some airlines don't have some of them, but as far as I can see there are no other areas of earning miles / status that couldn't fall into the above categories? Thanks Andrew |
I have 31 programs in my Traxo account, 39 for all my family members on AwardWallet, and some subset of that number on UsingMiles, GoMiles, Mileage Manager, Points.com. MileTracker and Yodlee.
I've tried them all to determine which fits me needs best. It never even crossed my mind to try doing it myself. If you want a list to make your spreadsheet complete, you can go to any of those sites and see a list of everything they track. AwardWallet has about 625 programs, by my quick scan. |
