DVD and/or BBC iPlayer to iPhone

OK, I've given in and bought the iPhone.

Now, as an iPhone newbie, what's the best way to get DVDs and BBC iPlayer content onto the iphone.

My host machine for the iPhone is a Vista Box.

For DVDs I would use a program called handbrake. It can rip DVDs and has quick presets for different formats and devices including the iPhone. I am not familiar with iPlayer since I am not from the UK. Though I thought I remembered reading about how they either had an app or that if you go to the web site you could stream videos. Obviously this won't work too well if you are flying though.

you can stream BBC Iplayer directly onto your iphone through the webrowser.

Just point it at www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer from safai and there you go!!

for dvd's i use handbrake (as mentioned above) and then move them over to the itunes folder to sync up with my iphone.

Thanks for the help so far.....

Handbrake downloaded and ready for testing in preference to the paid option - hopefully it will do all I need.

iPlayer: I was hoping for a way to hijack a stream, save it on the PC and move it to the iphone for later viewing. Googling around has uncovered some people that have done it - I'd just like to see if anyone on here has any experience.

There is a way to break the DRM restrictions on a downloaded show using BBC desktop viewer (i read about it ages ago, but didn't really pay attention to the article). Then I guess its a case of handbraking it.

Let me know if you have any luck.
